Mike Farrell is an American icon. He has spent forty years entertaining audiences in front of the camera. Today he
gets his motivation as a citizen activist.
The veteran actor became well known to television audiences as B. J. Hunnicutt, part of the wise-cracking surgeon duo
with Hawkeye Pierce in the immensely popular 1970s show M*A*S*H*. More recently he has been seen in the television
series "Providence" and "Desperate Housewives". But acting is not what motivates Mike these days. It's his work
with political and charitable causes, including CONCERN/America, an international refugee aid and development
organization and Human Rights Watch.

Your Most Basic Right as an American is Under Attack. Your Most Trusted Duty as a Citizen Hangs in the Balance.
Are You Paying Attention?
You’ve seen the bumper sticker: “If you don’t vote, then don’t complain about the government.” But on Election Day 2004 millions of voters had a lot
to complain about: they waited in line for hours to cast ballots, requested absentee ballots never arrived, the final tallies from voting machines
showed gross inaccuracies and officials played partisan politics with the voting rules.
Sadly the 2004 election exposed deep flaws in a process that should be guaranteed to run smoothly. Bumper sticker philosophy aside, if a free and fair
election is not possible then everything else we hold dear about this nation is in danger. But, how do we get there from here?
Two years after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast a large swath of New Orleans remains a disaster area. The Federal Government has shown their
true colors by abandoning the poorest of the city to trailer parks while the money for rebuilding has gone to political cronies who haven’t done the
work our tax dollars already paid for. While our political leaders studiously ignore them New Orleans's citizens are still in desperate need of a
helping hand. You can do your part by watching the video and then signing the petition urge Washington to pass the Gulf Coast Recovery Bill of 2007.
Private equity giant The Carlyle Group wants to take over the biggest publicly traded nursing home business in
America and take it private. Then They'll apply "cost-cutting measures" and "efficiencies" to turn a fat profit, but what it really means is less care for your loved ones and higher costs for you.
Tell Congress that you draw the line on private profit when it starts to hurt grandma. Tell them to block the sale of nursing homes until private profiteers are held publicly accountable.
